Academic Background

Applicants are expected to have sufficient formal academic training in Engineering and the Sciences to qualify for enrollment in graduate engineering coursework. Deficiencies must be removed through additional requirements prescribed by the Industrial Engineering Graduate Studies Committee.

Applicants must have had a prior course or demonstrate proficiency through an examination in Engineering Management, Human Factors/Ergonomics, Production/Manufacturing Systems, Optimization, and Statistical Analysis which are required of undergraduate Industrial Engineering students.

Admission Requirements

Admission will be based upon the applicant's past academic record and letters of recommendation from former professors.

Classification of applicants will be made on their undergraduate and/or graduate scholastic record as follows:

  1. A grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 (A=4.00) or higher is the minimum requirement for full admission to the program.
  2. A minimum TOEFL score of 550 for international students.

** We do not directly admit students into the program; we only recommends one's admission to the Graduate College.
