Biography

Suleyman Karabuk received his doctorate from the Industrial and Systems Engineering of Lehigh University in 2001. He worked for Milliken & Co. as an operations research analyst until he joined OU in 2003. In industry, Dr. Karabuk worked on logistics problems at various levels of the textile manufacturing supply chain and applied optimization, simulation and statistical analysis approaches.

At Lehigh he was a student affiliate of the Manufacturing Logistics Institute, where he participated in industry-linked research projects related to capacity planning in semiconductor industry. His research interests included a broad range of logistics problems over complex manufacturing supply chains and under uncertainty. He published in Operations Research, IIE Transactions, and the Journal of Manufacturing Systems.

Dr. Karabuk also worked as a software developer at an international company for two years prior to pursuing his doctorate and was involved in the development and implementation of MRP-II systems. He received his Master of Science degree from Bilkent University in 1994, where he did research on scheduling and flexible manufacturing systems.
